  • For FNew User Registration a Registration Form will open. Fill this form to register.
  • There are two option in First information (Register to apply).
    1. CPV Delhi (Click this option only for Diplomatic/Official White Passport)
    2. Passport Office (For Regular Passport or For Common Citizen). Select Option 2.
  • Now Select your Passport Office (Select as per Current Residential Address).
  • Fill all other details as per registration form. (First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and Email)
  • Select your user name as your email id
  • Create your Password. The password must contain one-digit (0-9), one lowercase (a-z) or uppercase (A-Z) character. It can contain minimum 8 and maximum 14 characters.
  • Select Hint Question and Answer, Type Captcha code and Click on Register.
  • Please Save/Note Down Your ID, PASSWORD and Security Answer for Future Login.
  • Now Check Your email ID for activating your account.
  • Activate your user id by clicking on activation link on your email id. Passport Seva Page will open and Once again type your email id and activate it.
  • Once you’ve registered next step to log in passport website using your ID and Password which are created in previous step
    1. You can apply for 5 application (All Family) with a single user ID. So, you don’t need to create a separate User ID/ Password for another application.
    2. You can find all of your applications by clicking the option View Saved/Submitted Applications just below the Services tab in right side.
  • In Applicant home page You can see the option “apply for fresh/re-issue of passport”. Click this option for fill your application.
  • In next page your will see two alternate option to fill your application- first is online form and second is using pdf and xml uploading.

Select the alternative 1 option to fill your application online.

 
  • In next page you have to select your Regional Passport Office.
    1. Please note this is very important step.
    2. You must select the state in which you are Currently/Presently residing. If you don’t have address proof, then apply for your address proof first then apply for passport. You can get a registered Rent agreement then update your aadhar address etc.
    3. If you are a student in another state then first Get a Bonafide from your School/College.
    4. Never fill the wrong information in application.
 
  • In next Page Select your Passport Type (New Passport Vs Re-issue of Passport), (Normal Vs Tatkal ) and ( 36 Pages Vs 60 Pages)
    1. If your have any previous passport then always select the Re-issue of Passport. Never apply for new passport if you got a same category (Non-Official) passport in any time of your life. Never hide any information in your application.
    2. You have to pay extra Rs 2000 for tatkal and at least 3 ID document as per step 1 checklist.
    3. You have to pay extra Rs 500 for 60 Page Passport
 
  • In next page fill Applicant Details i.e. First Name, Last Name, Gender, DOB, Birth Place (State/UT, District), Marital Status, Citizenship of India by birth*, PAN (if available), Voter Id (if available),Employment Type, Is either of your parent (in case of minor)/spouse, a government servant?, Educational qualification, Non-ECR category, Visible distinguishing mark, Aadhaar Number (if available).
Important point for this page:
  1. If you have changed your name and different name exist in your different document then you have to provide copies of Affidavit, newspaper ads (2 paper) or Gazette Notification as proof of name change. So please complete this process before visit to passport office.
  2. Select a Valid Employment Type. For Govt employee you have to furnish the No Objection Certificate (NOC) as per Annexure ‘G’ OR Prior Intimation Letter (PIL) OR Identity Certificate (IC) in original as per Annexure ‘A’ from your concern office. For retired Govt Employee please carry your Pension Order with you while visiting to PSK.
  3. Select your education qualification carefully. If you select the qualification 10th pass and above then you have to carry your original educational document with you in any cost. If you have lost/missed those documents then please first re-collect your document from your education Board Head Office then apply for passport. There is no other option for you. If you are 7th pass or less then no need to carry any education proof.
  4. Non-ECR category passport issued to those people who have passed their 10th If you are not 10th pass or don’t file your ITR return then your passport will be stamped ECR Category. Note: If the applicant does not have Non-ECR status then All such ECR passport holders need to obtain Emigration Clearance Certificate from the Protector-General of Emigrants, Ministry of Overseas India Affairs. Or OK TO BOARD REQUIED IN THEIR VISA BEFORE TRAVELLING TO SOME GULF CONTRIES. Minor and senior citizen exempted.
 
  • In next page fill your Family Details father, mother (as per your 1oth certificate) and spouse (if married) name
 
  • In next page fill Present Residential Address, District, Police Station, pin code, mob no and email id. If your permanent address is different then your current address then you have to provide your permanent address also. Please Note.
    • Fill your present address as per your address proof and select your police station properly.
    • Sometime your police station does not appear in the list. This is due to New District, PS and Pin Code combination not match as per passport portal. Some districts are not physically existing but they are virtually created.
    • So please change your nearby district you will find your police station. Similarly, if your pin code does not show in your district then your can select your nearby pin code. And intimate the same to PSK executive while you visit PSK.
 
  • In next page fill emergency details. This can be your wife, parents, friends or relatives. If this is your family member residing with you then no need to fill their address.
 
  • In next page you have to fill about your Identity Certificate(for citizen who migrate India from other country like Tibbat or Nepal etc. If you and your ancestor are Indian by birth then select no for this option) and Previous Passport (if available) Details.
  • In next page you have to provide about criminal cases (if any). Otherwise select No for all option.
 
  • In next page you will see your passport data as in printing form. You can check your particulars and complete address in this stage.
 
  • If all details is OK and correct then click next and self declaration page will open. In this page you have to select your Date of Birth Document and Residential Proof Document, which you are willing to carry with you while visit to passport office. Next select for your SMS option. You are recommended to  select yes for this option to receive any transnational message regarding your passport during processing. Next type date and place and read your declaration-if you are agree, click on agree button and submit your form.
Once your form is submitted as per step 3. Next step is to pay application fee and schedule appointment Online Payment is Mandatory before Booking Appointment
  • After form submission you will prompt to pay and schedule appointment.
  • Otherwise Go to the ‘Applicant Home’ page & click on the ‘View Saved/Submitted Applications’.
  • All submitted application form details will be displayed. Select your application.
  • Click on ‘Pay and Schedule Appointment’ option from the ones provided.
Online Payment can be made using any one of the following modes:
  1. Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard & Visa)
  2. Internet Banking (State Bank of India(SBI) and Associate Banks Only)
  3. SBI Bank Challan
Applicants applying under Tatkaal need to pay only the fee as applicable under Normal Category (Rs 1500 for adult and Rs 1000 for minor below 15 year) while making Online Payment. The balance fee as applicable for Tatkaal will be payable in “Cash” at Passport Seva Kendra/ Passport Office, once Tatkaal application is accepted by Passport Officials.

To pay using Credit/Debit Card OR Internet Banking

  • Step 1. Click the “Schedule Appointment” link, select the appointment quota as per your urgency (i.e. Tatkaal Quota or Normal Quota), Select the desired Passport Seva Kendra, and click the Next button. You will see the all available date of  for your selected PSK office. Select your date for visit and click next.
  • Step 2. Click the Pay and Book Appointment button to redirect to State Bank of India’s Multi Option Payment System.
  • Step 3. Select the Mode of Payment (NET BANKING or CARD PAYMENTS), and make payment as per your net banking or credit/debit card details. Please do not click the Back button or refresh the page, as this may lead to failure of transaction. If payment is failed by any reason, re-login your account and verify the failed payment. If payment is pending then your have to wait for some time while pending transaction is settled by your bank.
  • Step 4. Once the payment is successful, an appointment will be booked automatically for the selected Passport Seva Kendra and the “Appointment Confirmation” screen of PSP Portal will be displayed.
  • Step 5. Take a printout of the Application (ARN) Receipt, and carry it along while visiting the Passport Seva Kendra on the given appointment date/time.

To pay using a Challan

  • Step 1. Generate and print SBI Bank Challan through the “Pay using Challan” link.
  • Step 2. Submit the Challan along with indicated application fee at the nearest SBI branch after at least three hours of Challan generation.
  • Step 3. Payment will be reflected after at least two working days of depositing the fee in the SBI branch. Click the “Track Payment Status” link to track Payment Status.
  • Step 4. If Payment Status is displayed as Success, click the “Schedule Appointment” link to schedule an appointment.
  • Step 5. Select the Appointment Quota (i.e. Tatkaal Quota or Normal Quota (required only for Tatkaal ARN cases)), select the desired Passport Seva Kendra, and click the Book Appointment button. An appointment (if available) will be booked automatically for the selected Passport Seva Kendra.
  • Step 6. Take a printout of the Application (ARN) Receipt, and carry it along while visiting the Passport Seva Kendra on the given appointment date/time.
Online Payment will remain valid for one year from the first appointment date. The paid fee will be forfeited if applicants do not submit application at PSK within this period.   Reschedule/Cancel an Appointment
  • Once an appointment at Passport Seva Kendra is confirmed, it can be rescheduled/ canceled only two times within a year of first appointment date.
  • Applicants who have booked an appointment earlier (before introduction of the Online Payment facility) and want to reschedule it now, will also need to make online payment of indicated application fee to do so.
PAYMENT ONCE MADE FOR AVAILING PASSPORT SERVICES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.
  • Visit the PSK as per your appointment. Please carry all of your original documents with you along with 1 set self attested photocopy.
  • Visit the PSK at least 30 minute prior to your appointment time.
  • Always carry your all available original address, id and date of birth proof and original 10 th certificate while visit to PSK.
  • Follow all steps in PSK until you receive your acknowledgement slip. Also inform to PSK executive about any mistake you want to correct in your application. i.e. PIN code etc.
  • On successful document verification you will provided a FILE Number. You can track your application using this file no.

The police verification is a crucial step to issue passports in India. 

There are three types of police verification:

  • Before issuance or Pre Police Verification. (Normal Case)

  • After issuance or Post Police Verification.(For tatkal cases or on successful aadhar validation at PSK and providing aadhar card, pan card, voter id or driving license)

  • No Police Verification.  Example for Govt Employee (NOC required) and for minor (Parents should have passport with same address)

Police verification process

  • On successful submission of your application at PSK your verification will initiate within one week.
  • An investigation officer(IO) will assigned by local police station to verify your address and identity or any criminal charges on you.
  • IO will visit at your present address and confirm your presence and other documents at given address. He also verify about your details from other residents near you.
  • Officer will submit your report to passport office.
  • On receiving of clear verification report from IO, passport office will approve your application and print your passport and dispatch to your address
  • Total process take 10-30 days- vary state to state and depend on Investigation Officer’s Workload.
  • Recently Online Verification process in initiated at some police stations to reduce to overall verification time for fast delivery of passport.

Checking Police Verification Status for Passport

During the police verification process, the police issue and update different statuses marking their verification process.

Here are the types of verification statuses:

Clear – It indicates that the police report is OK for the application.

Adverse – During the verification, IO found certain inconsistencies in the information provided by the applicant.  i.w. wrong address provided by applicant. In this case the passport will withheld or canceled or under Regional Office review. During review period you can re initiate the verification process by paying fine against your false information and correcting the application as actual.

Incomplete – It indicates that during the verification process, the police have found the documents submitted by the applicant are incomplete, halting the process halfway. In this case you should complete your document first then visit to regional passport office and proceed for your verification once again.

Once your passport office receive you clear of police verification, your application finally approves and PSK print your passport and dispatch to your address. Note: Total time for passport process- (15-30 days) for normal apply and (2-5 days) for tatkal since your appointment date. But this time may differ/vary state to state.

  • Step 6: Now Click on the “Continue with the PAN Application Form”  option.
  • Step 7: You will be see the page where you have to submit your digital e-KYC. In this page you have to select first or second option if your aadhar card is linked with mobile no and that mobile is available right now. (In first option your aadhar photo and address will link with pan card. In second option you can change your photo and  arrange address properly). Third option is used when your aadhar is not linked with mobile no). In this case you have to physically send your application to NSLD office.

  • Step 8: Now enter last four digit of your aadhar card and your personal details like Gender, father name.

In the next page fill your income source, residential address and  

(NOTE: address is not required to fill in case of first case ie e-kyc, it will print from aadhar card)

  • Step 9: In the next part of the form, enter your contact and other details.
  • Step 10: Your area code, AO Type and other details will be automatically fill in next page when you select your state and city. You need to select your nearby WARD from a given list of ward.

  • Step 13: You will be redirected to the payment section where you have to make payment either through demand draft or through netbanking/debit/credit card.

  • Step 14: Once you make the payment, you will get the acknowledge form with the 16 digit acknowledgment slip.
  • Step 15 :  After successful payment you will get below screen..

Click on the Authenticate button for verify your aadhar numbr.

  • Step 14 : Now you will  receive OTP on your aadhar registered mobile no and you have to just type that OTP on the OTP box and click on the submit button.
  • Step 15 :  Next click on the button Continue with eSign to validate your aadhar card.
  • Step 16: In Next  Screen you have to enter you put your aadhar number for second stage validation for your aadhar card. In this Screen type your aaadhar number in front of the box VID/Aadhar and click on the send OTP button.
  • Step 17 : Once you click send OTP will will receive one time password in your registered mobile number and below screen will appear. Insert the OTP you receive on your registered number and click on Verify OTP Green button.
  • Step 18: On successful OTP Validation you get your acknowledgment copy. Enter your date of birth as ddmmyyyy format and print it. You don’t need to send this copy to anywhere. You will get your PAN Card in your email id within 2-5 hours ( only working day).
